The Spheronizer 380 is a floor standing pharma production machine that can be customized to your requirements.  It is small enough to be moved on the fitted castors yet sturdy enough to be considered as production equipment.

It is designed to work as companion equipment with the Caleva 35 Screen Extruder or the Caleva Extruder 40 Gear Extruder.

The pharmaceutical Spheronizer 380 is a robust, mobile and very practically sized small production machine that is also often used for larger scale formulation scale-up and development trials as well as smaller scale production.

The level of automation that is possible can allow you to achieve efficient small scale manufacture of spheroids economically and efficiently.  Whilst using the smallest batch size possible with this spheroniser, formulation and process development trials are possible as well as scale up experiments.

With a full range of options available the pharma Spheronizer 380 is a flexible machine that will provide years of valuable use for both production and product development and can be tailored to suit individual customer requirements.

Output and Productivity

The achievable throughput is dependent on the properties of the material being spheronized. 

If an average spheronisation time and a load of four kilos is assumed (spheronization time can be from 0.5 to 10 minutes - the spheronizer can be emptied whilst running) a production of 40kg per hour would be normal.

A larger load and a reduced production time of would increase capacity.

Available Options

Several options are available according to the needs of your products.  Please discuss with us what would be suitable for you.  Amongst the options available are:-

·   Fines Air system for dusty products.  Designed to eliminate dust falling between the disc and the drum.

·   Spheronizing disc with cross hatch sizes according to your specific requirements.

·   A radial groove disk for gentler processing of your material where this is required.

·   Anti-stick coating for drum and discs.  Useful when you have to deal with sticky materials.  Coating materials are FDA approved for food use.

·   Drum heating/cooling jacket to allow your process to run at a controlled temperature.  Useful in hot climates or when your product needs to be above or below ambient temperature.  We normally supply without temperature control and water recirculatory system but we can source this for you if required.

·   The level of automation can be made to suit customer specific requirement.
