 The Caleva-MBS  (Multi Bowl Spheronizer)

  • Four different diameter spheronizer bowls used on the same base.
  • Work with a wide range of batch sizes with a single apparatus.

Spheronize batches from 1g to 1kg*.

  • Work with small samples sizes when product is scarce or costly.
  • Work with larger sample sizes when larger samples can be tested or when trial quantities are required.

With the optional Datastor™ automatic recording of operational data and product temperature is possible.

  • Print permanent records of every run for secure storage.

 Full pharmaceutical documentation packages available.

  • Full IQ/OQ validation is available.
  • Suitable for clinical work

Fully safety interlocked.

  • Don’t use equipment that is not safety interlocked!

 Flexible purchase.

  • Have what you need when you need it. Upgrade in stages according to need.

With spheronization you can reduce or eliminate dust hazards.  Typical spheroid (pellet) sizes are from 0.8mm to 3.0mm diameter but smaller are possible.

The Caleva Multi Bowl Spheronizer has a simple operating structure.  The front panel has ‘Start’. ‘Stop’, ‘Emergency stop’ buttons along with indicators for ‘Power on’, ‘Motor on’ and a speed control device that allows changes in disc speed during the spheronization process if required.

It is robust in construction and will give you many years of trouble free use.

The MBS is designed for laboratory bench top use and is suitable for pharma laboratory research and small batch production.

The ability to change bowl sizes is incorporated in theproduct release door greatly facilitate ease of use and efficiency.

Product working capacity is suited to the Caleva Extruder 20 but with a significantly higher throughput of material than with the smaller Spheronizer 120.

The working batch size of between 1g and 1.0kg makes it ideal for work where material is not particularly scarce

For most material you can spheronize up to 10kg/hr.

It has the ideal capacity for your scale up studies.

The Calev Multi Bowl Spheronizer, a small bench–top pelletizer using limited amount of valuable bench space whilst at the same time being a powerful work horse for both R&D and small scale pellet production.

Output and Productivity

The achievable throughput is dependent on the properties of the material being spheronized and the size of bowl being used.

If a five minute spheronisation time and a load of one kilo is assumed (spheronization time can be from 0.5 to 10 minutes) production of 10kg per hour would be achievable.

With the 250mm diameter bowl the MBS spheronizer (marumerizer) can be emptied whilst running and a larger load and a reduced time of treatment would increase capacity.

With the Caleva-MBS  you can have:-

A 250mm drum  (100g to 1kg)
A 120mm drum (10g to 130g)
A 85mm drum.   (5g to 15g)
A 60mm drum.   (1g to 5g)
