The Caleva Extruder 100 is a production gear extruder, designed to produce a dense, high quality extrudate of pharmaceutical (pharma) formulations.  The high mass of the gears is designed to impart very little work to the product as it is processed.  This reduces problems caused by the material overheating or drying out.

The Gear Extruder 100 is supplied with a standard gear set with 4mm x 1mm holes but additional gears can be supplied with different diameter holes.

The diameter of spheroids (pharmaceutical pellets) is largely determined by the diameter of the extrudated used.

Construction can be tailored to individual user requirements.

The Extruder 100 is designed for pharma production use.

The working capacity is suited to the Caleva production Spheronizer 700 or 700 Twin.

A convenient working batch size will depend on the characteristics of the product being extruded. 

Production rate could be up to 200kg/hour making the Extruder 100 ideal for extrusion where batches are a few hundred kilos and a dense,  high quality extrudate is required.

The Extruder 100 takes a limited amount of floor space whilst being a powerful extrusion equipment for pharmaceutical production needs.

 The achievable throughput is always dependent on the properties of the material being extruded and thus cannot be guaranteed.

The Extruder 100 is designed as a production pharma extruder and for most materials batches of 200kg/hour should be possible.  Output is easily modified by altering the speed of rotation of the gears.

There is a standard design for the Extruder 100 but equipment can be designed to customer requirements to suit an existing or planned production line. 

All machines are supplied with a 95mm diameter extrusion gear set with 1mm extrusion holes. Additional gear set are available with different hole sizes as required.  Amongst other options available are:-

·    Gear sets with apertures according to user needs.  Custom sizes are possible but some are not practical please discuss your needs with us.

·    Customer specific apertures in 0.1mm increments can be supplied as required.  Although we can make gear sets with very small apertures we do not currently recommend aperture sizes below 0.8mm or above 2.0mm in diameter on 95mm diameter gears.

·    Stainless steel collection bins can be supplied to collect product as it is discharged from the machine.

·    A proximity switch can be placed so that the machine will not operate unless a collection bin is in place.
